The northern part of Kefalonia, which was the only place that survived from the strong earthquakes of the past, can show you the authentic old Kefalonia, offering you at the same the time, the most special beaches you ‘ve ever seen.

Kefalonia is a big island and can offer you a variety of places to visit, great food and night life. Below, there is a list with our recommendations, all places we love and consider that shouldn’t be missed.

– Emplisi and Foki beach.

Two wonderful, quiet and pebbly beaches with crystal clear waters.

– Myrtos beach.

One of the most famous beaches worldwide that has also been awarded with Blue Flag and should not be missed! The beach is located to Myrtos Bay near Fiscardo, at about 20 minutes drive.

– Agia Kiriaki beach near the village of Zola.

You may reach the beach driving from Fiscardo to either the village of Agkonas or from the village of Zola. There you will come across relevant signs leading to the beach.

– Antisamos beach, near Sami.

Antisamos has also been awarded with Blue Flag and become more famous after some scenes for the movie “Captain Corelli’s Mantolin” were shooted there.

The southern part of the Ithaca is visible by the beach.

– Makris & Platis Gialos.

Both beaches are located near Argostoli, the capital of Kefalonia to the southwest part of the island.

They are neighboring beaches, both very well organized, sandy, with crystal clear waters and also awarded with Blue Flag!

As far as food is concerned, starting with the day’s first meal, we suggest “Pick -Nick” at Antipata (next to Fiscardo) where you will find great breakfast to take away. For the rest of the day:

Votsalo offers refined Greek and Mediterranean dishes in beautiful surroundings.

– Foki tavern at Fiskardo.

This traditional Greek tavern is just a step away from the beach of Foki at Fiscardo and we consider it ideal for a long day at the beach.

– “To Ionio” Tavern at Magganos.

Also near Fiscardo (about 20 minutes drive), “Ionio” is one more very good choice for those loving Greek cuisine.

– Makis Tavern at Vasilikiades.

Traditional Greek flavors and very well grilled meat!
